Experience Bryon
Artistic Director/Choreographer/Stage Director

Experience Bryon, PhD., BA Mus.Perf.(Hons), R.Y.T. Experience is  pioneer of Integrative Performance Practice and an active stage director, choreographer, classical vocalist, and yoga  instructor. She has held a private practice in voice, specializing in teaching from a physical perspective, and has served  as vocal consultant for opera companies and agencies. Experience has directed opera throughout New Zealand, Australia and  America. Her unique work in the development of the vocal body stems from years of research and practice. The IPP creates greater  options for artistic expression with the mediums of theatre, dance, music and opera. Experience has been invited to present her research and practice supporting Integrative Performance Theory at the Symposion "Tanz und Musiktheater" Hannover, Germany,  the Easter Conference for Movement and Physical Theatre Practice at the Moscow Art Theatre, The Festival of Original Theatre  in Toronto, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education Conference in San Francisco and The National Modern Dance Company  in collaboration with Optemus Opera in Mexico. Within the last year Experience's direction/choreography has been seen in New  York at The Field's Fielday, New Dance Group's The Exchange, Movement Research's Open Performance, and The  Composer's Voice  series at Jan Hus Church. Experience is currently working on bending performance genres, creating  theatrical works that cross the boundaries between the classical voice and dance using original composition and kinetic art  and is a lecturer at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

David Wolfson

David Wolfson graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 1985, and in that same year was the first recipient of the newly established Darius Milhaud Award and won the Bascom Little Musical Theatre Composition.He began his involvement with  interdisciplinary performance as a founding member of The Performance Ensemble, based in Cleveland, which featured modern  dance, theatre and performance art. From 1989-1992, Mr. Wolfson was resident composer and music director of EM/R Dance Co., a choreographer's collective.  From 1993-1996, he was co-artistic director of Wichern/Wolfson dance & music, a company dedicated to performances involving  both dance and live music. Mr Wolfson's music for these companies was called 'brilliant' by the Cleveland Plain Dealer; the  New York Times referred to it as 'musically inventive' and 'theatrically forceful. Mr. Wolfson was also the composer for Story Salad, a series of stage revues for children which toured nationally from  1987 to 2000. Mr. Wolfson's recent compositional activities have been concentrated primarily in music for theatre and for  voice; his theatrical song cycle Dreamhouse, based on the poetry of Barbara DeCesare, premiered in 2005  in New York  City as part of the Sixth Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival. 'Song For An Accident' from Dreamhouse was recorded by Tamra Hayden on her CD A Day At The Fair. Other recent compositions include the lullaby 'Like Water' (recorded by EVDC principal artist Karen Jolicoeur on her CD The Dream That You Wish) and four songs for Diane Menges' recital program Who Is This Jesus?' Mr. Wolfson was the Music Director of the New York Theatrical Community Chorus from 2002-2007. Mr. Wolfson's compositions for EVDC have been performed at Symposion "Tanz und Musiktheater" in Hannover, Germany, and in New York at The Field's Fielday, New Dance Group's The Exchange, Movement Research's Open Performance, and The Composer's Voice  series at Jan Hus Church.' Current projects include  the Vocalise Series for the principal artists of EVDC and a cello quartet for the cello quartet Cello.

Amy Carrigan
Principal Artist
Amy Carrigan has been performing in various musical and theatrical contexts for the past 20 years. She is a singer of various forms from folk and pop to classical and jazz and is a member of the band Ducarriganigan with guitarist/songwriter Aaron Dugan. She is a core member of Drama of Works, a Brooklyn based travelling puppetry company, and is currently working on a shadow puppetry version of Sleepy Hollow to be accompanied by a live string octet. She has a BA in theater and is trained in various experimental forms.

Susan Erenberg
Principal Artist
Susan Erenberg received her BA in Music Education and Drama & Theatre from Queens College, where she received top awards for acting, musical theatre, and opera performance. She has appeared Off-Broadway as Becky in the rock opera "Soul Searching" and in the Samuel French New Play Festival as Annie Saxton in "She Lives Alone in Maine". Favorite roles include The Witch (Humperdinck's 'Hansel & Gretel'), Mabel (The Pajama Game), and The Chorus (Electra). She has a soft spot for tap and a cappella music.

Karen Jolicoeur
Principal Artist

Karen Jolicoeur is a critically acclaimed soprano with repertoire including traditional and modern opera, concert, musical theater and cabaret. She has appeared as a soloist at Carnegie Hall in the Fauré Requiem and Haydn's Little Organ Mass, and at Alice Tully Hall under the baton of Yves Abel. Passionate about new works, she has performed numerous premieres for New York composers. She holds a Bachelor's in Opera from the Hartt School and a Master's in Voice from the New England Conservatory, where she moonlighted as a trainer at the gym next door. She is a certified yoga instructor and a longtime student of the Alexander Technique. Karen recently released an album entitled "The Dream That You Wish" on the What's Left Records label.

Sara Paar
Principal Artist
Sara Paar is a classically trained soprano and voice teacher who hails from Wisconsin. Much of her work in New York has centered around the performance of new works, including operas, musicals, and electro-acoustic works. She is also familiar with classical theatre repertoire, having performed roles such as Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Katherine (Love's Labours Lost) and Gluttony (Marlowe's Dr. Faustus) with various local companies. Sara works as an adjunct lecturer for CUNY's Kingsborough Community College and is also the founder of the Children's Chorus of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Voice from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and a Masters Degree in Voice from Binghamton University. Ever curious about the workings of the voice and body, Sara has done extensive study into the science of the voice and has earned a certificate in Vocology from the University of Iowa.

Julie Turner
Principal Artist
Julie Turner received a B.F.A in Dance (performance'choreography) from the University of Southern Mississippi.  She is currently a Pilates Instructor in NYC. She also dances with a modern dance company, white road Dance Media.  Julie is thrilled to be working with EVDC and exploring the possibilities of merging dance with sound.

Ros Philips
Associate Movement Facilitator
Ros lives in London UK and works worldwide as a movement specialist, actress and facilitator. In 2008 Ros completed an MA in Movement Studies at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Her movement background is; physical training for the actor at Man Met School of Theatre including Alexander Technique, Gardzienice, Feldenkrais and the work of Monika Pagneux. Her physical approach to performance has been deepened in her ongoing training with voice coach Howard Milner (Royal College of Music). These trainings support her investigation into breath, movement and imagination, which she now explores with EVDC. An actress for 14 years Ros has worked in Theatre, TV and Radio. As a company member at the Mercury Theatre Colchester Ros established herself as a classical actress and as such has been invited to teach theatre students in colleges and universities across the country. She also works as a facilitator and role player, most recently working with NATO and European bank, on international negotiation skills.

Rachel Lindop
Rachel trained at the Royal College of Music, at the Britten-Pears school with Anthony Rolfe-Johnson and Ann Murray, and continues her studies with Diane Forlano. She has performed at St John Smith's Square, across Europe with Mark Minkowski and Les Musiciens du Louvre, and is a regular soloist at St-Martin-in-the-Fields. Operatic work includes Xerxes for New Chamber Opera, Gluck's Orfeo for Finchcock Baroque Players and Mozart's first opera Apollo et Hyacinthus for Classical Opera Company. She has a particular passion for Bach.

Emma Savell
Emma Savell was trained in the Central School of Speech and Drama in London where she did an MA in Acting Musical Theatre. She has performed at locations such as Her Majesty's Theatre, The London Film School and Goldsmiths University. She is also a Jazz soloist in various venues. Emma is extremely thrilled to be involved with such an inspirational technique (IPP) and is looking forward to embarking on this experimental journey with Experience Vocal Dance.

Konstantinos Thomaidis
Konstantinos has a gained a BA in Drama & Theatre (Acting) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and an MA in Physical Theatre and Performance from Royal Holloway, University of London, where he is currently doing a PhD on the performer's singing voice (in Bel Canto, p'ansori and the Gardzienice). He has worked as a performer, co-devisor, assistant director, composer, translator and theatrologist both in Greece and the UK. EVDC's holistic approach intrigues him to explore the vocal body as an amazing new territory of the performer's
craft.

Marianne Micallef
Marianne Micallef works as a voice coach in London alongside her British Sky Broadcasting career. After years of classical dance training and actor training she began investigating her voice skills. She graduated with a Masters degree in Voice Studies from The Central School of Speech and Drama. She is delighted to have the opportunity to combine all the things she loves into one art form.

Lynn Wichern
GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER for EDGE
Lynn Wichern, an Iowa native, studied dance and composition at the University of Iowa, Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts and Case Western Reserve University, where she received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Theatre. While at CWRU, she produced a dance-drama based on W.B. Yeats' play The Cat and the Moon in collaboration with composer David Wolfson and baritone Andrew White.
Ms. Wichern has taught on the dance faculties of Illinois Wesleyan University, Drake University, Simpson College, and served as the Director of Dance at the University of Virginia.
Ms. Wichern is recognized as a leading administrator in the field of dance, working with such noted artists as Mark Morris and Shen Wei, and is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the Cunningham Dance Foundation. As a choreographer, she has presented her works in New York City at the Merce Cunningham Studio, the Vineyard Theater, DIA Center for the Arts, the Field, the 92nd Street Y and the Laban Institute of Movement Studies. She has performed as a guest artist with Dance Co'Motion in Des Moines, Iowa and the Miki Liszt Dance Company of Charlottesville, Virginia, and danced with Willis Ward and Katherine Litz of the Center for New Performing Arts in Iowa City, Iowa. Ms. Wichern was a member of the Nancy Meehan Dance Company. She has received a project grant from the Music Program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Marvin Williams
COMPOSER for NIN
Marvin Williams, is a producer, composer and musician who has worked on over 500 records. Marvin has toured, recorded and earned various Grammy, AMA, and JUNO nominations and awards with artists such as Paula Abdul, Theresa Anderson, Tab Benoit, Shirley Caesar, Andre Codrescu, Randy Crawford, Divine, Roberta Flack, Gina Forsyth, Kim Fox, Chaka Kahn, Jerry LaCroix, Mamou, Mem Shannon, Patti La Belle, Charmaine Neville, Anders Osborne, Papillion, 50 Man Machine, Wild Magnolias. He has received multiple selections as Jazz Bassist or Bassist of the Year in magazines' readers' polls (OffBeat, Lagniappe, PC Reads, Florida Art and Music) and was a Black Entertainment Television's Jazz Discovery 1995-1997. Williams has worked on award winning dance projects including Dick Peaslee's Feu Follet: Music for the Elisa Monte Dance production Louisiana's Renversè.
